Objects of desire

I don't think John Lennon can have been much of a cook. I mean, really. "Imagine no possessions, it's easy if you try"? When we moved house last year most of our boxes were full of kitchen-related paraphenalia (or books with a strong food theme). Since then I've tried to be less acquisitive but every now and then I get strongly tempted. Here are a few of the latest things on my wishlist...

Milk measuring cups, from Anthropologie
A proper teapot from Divertimenti

A beautiful copper bassine from Millys

Ah well, dreams are free, aren't they? And they don't take up much room in your kitchen either. What have you got your eye on at the moment? Pin It

  1. Anthropologie has the nicest things. I'm covering all the pressed glassware on RE-found objects.com. I bet John lennon lived a minimalist life but had a loft stuffed full of rubbish like the rest of us!

  6. Haha, I think John Lennon meant no possessions as in private property.

  7. Yes! Copper! Totally want some. If money was no big thing, I'd also be after some more springform cake tins (mine are cheap and getting all dented and useless) and a couple of small, two-person sized casserole dishes. That teapot is very pretty, I think I want that too :)

  9. You have excellent taste. I love useful kitchen items that can be displayed. I don't have much storage in my kitchen so I give 2 thumbs up to anything that can sit on the shelf or on the window sill like the adorable milk bottle measuring cups.

  13. Less is only more where more is no good, remember! No possessions is an over-rated life philosophy. Pretty, and occasionally practical, is more my line of thinking - and I'm prepared to put my money where my mouth is - paying for two containers of kitchen-related stuff while I troll around the world! Buy it! Buy it!

Hello - thanks for stopping by. If this was real life I'd make you a cup of tea and open the biscuit tin, but in lieu of those things, let's have a chat anyway...
